Like most businesses, we have a set of values here at Service Mot Repairs. They were there when we set up a decade ago and they are still there now. We created them because we wanted to be the best in the Northampton area for service, MOT and, well you probably guessed it, repairs. While every business can write down its values, it is far more difficult to know and then demonstrate that you are meeting those goals. Well, we can do both, because we have been given the honour of being a Bosch Approved Service and Repair Centre. That is much more than just something to put on the reception wall here in our Round Spinney garage. It means that we have been recognised for constantly meeting our goal of being the best service, MOT and repair centre option for the motorists of Northampton.
Becoming a Bosch Service Centre isn’t just a matter of sending in a form. Nor is it an automatic certification where just selling a product is enough to be authorised. To qualify you must meet some very strict benchmarks.
As you probably know, Bosch is one of the biggest names in automotive, and indeed other technology industries, in the world. They employ over 400,000 people and have an annual turnover of around 78billion Euros. Their mobility division is worth 51% of those staggering figures. Yet despite all that market presence and incredible success, when it comes to Authorised Service and Repair Centres, there are only 300 of us across the whole of the UK and Ireland. For perspective, there are somewhere in the region of 23,000 MOT test stations in the UK and 21,000 vehicle repair centres. Only 300 are granted the recognition of meeting the Bosch standards.
So why do they only authorise certain repair centres? Well, it comes down to the significance of meeting their standard. Bosch has a reputation as a quality manufacturer to uphold. As a market-leading brand name, they need to be 100% certain that anyone associated with that name is not just paying lip service to high standards but is meeting those standards daily. For us being an authorised centre confirms that all the extra we do, all the additional service levels, the quality we strive to make our standard, and our commitment to our customers, has been recognised. We can say that our values align with those of the very best in the automotive industry.
